About Gregory Zimmer
Attorney
Greg got his start helping people long before becoming an attorney. During college, Greg worked as an EMT, gaining firsthand experience helping people in crisis. Having witnessed hardworking families confront some of life’s toughest challenges cemented the empathy and dedication he brings to his law practice today.
Greg earned his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University and his law degree from the University of Notre Dame. He began his legal career in his hometown of Chicago, then returned to Washington, D.C., before ultimately making Tampa his home.
Money is more than numbers on a page—it’s stability, peace of mind, and the backbone of a family’s future. Greg’s experience as a financial advisor earlier in life gave him a front‑row view of how everyday financial choices—and the unexpected life events that upend them—impact people. This perspective guides his approach to bankruptcy law today, offering practical solutions, genuine understanding, and a clear path to financial recovery.
Today, Greg applies that financial insight to his bankruptcy practice, helping clients not only find relief from overwhelming debt but also chart a clear path to rebuilding their financial future. He understands that bankruptcy is more than a legal process—it’s a chance to start fresh with the right strategy and support. Whether it’s helping someone save their home or guiding a client through rebuilding after financial distress, he believes in meeting people where they are—with clarity, compassion, and a plan forward.
Greg’s Memberships & Affiliations Greg is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI), the Tax Section of the Florida Bar, and the Real Property, Probate, & Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar.
What is Greg Passionate About? Greg lends his professional expertise as a pro bono attorney with Bay Area Legal Services, a financial stability coach for United Way Suncoast, and a member of Tampa Connection’s nonprofit advisory committee, where he helps local charities expand their impact. He is also involved with his Church, helping with the management and regulatory compliance of a volunteer group that supports a variety of causes, from food kitchens to parochial schools. When it's time to sort cans, serve food, and paint walls—he is there too rolling up his sleeves and doing the work.
Who is Greg When He’s Not Being an Attorney? If Greg isn’t in the office, you might find him taste‑testing margaritas around town—or underwater, finally putting his SCUBA certification to good use.
