David Arens

David Arens is a versatile attorney, focused on bankruptcy and experienced in such diverse areas of law as wills, trusts, and estates; family law; and commercial litigation. David gears his professional efforts toward helping those people with financial struggles emerge from their challenges stronger than ever before.

David started his legal career as a law clerk to a justice on the Tennessee Supreme Court. He then moved to full-service law firms in Nashville, Tennessee and Wilmington, Delaware, honing his skills as a creditors’ rights attorney and as a commercial bankruptcy attorney. In 2009, he was tapped to help start a bankruptcy practice at one of the nation’s leading construction litigation firms in northern Virginia. His experience at this venture led directly to David’s nearly ten years of experience as a solo practitioner, focused on commercial bankruptcy and litigation.

David is a 2006 graduate of Vanderbilt University Law School, where he served as managing editor on the law review and won the school’s prestigious Law Review Editor’s Award. He also graduated from Yale in 1995, with a degree with honor in American Studies.

David is admitted to the bars of the state of Florida, Delaware, the District of Columbia, and Virginia, along with most corresponding Federal courts to those states.

In his spare time, David enjoys SCUBA diving, golf, swimming, and board games. On the weekend, one most often would find him walking his wiener dogs, Mr. Z and Lilly Mae. David and his life partner live in the Deep Creek section of Punta Gorda, Florida.
