Attorney Carmen Dellutri says free consultations offered by some lawyers may set a person on the right track. Dellutri says many people who come to his firm for free advice leave with no reason to hire him but are better prepared for their court date.
"I want everyone who leaves here to have a game plan, there's no pressure to hire my firm," Dellutri said. "I want them to know what they are facing, and how to handle it."
Sometimes, he said, just talking with a legal professional can clear a lot of emotional stress.
"You're going to bring the anxiety level down," he said. "I want to tell them this is not the end of the world, I want them to understand what they're facing and how to handle it, I want them to have a game plan.".
