Southwest Florida has an aging population, and the question of social security comes up often. In Chapter 7, it comes up in the means test. Congress took social security out of the means test budget, so when you're looking at income in the means test, social security is excluded. Social security also comes up in Schedule I and Schedule J, which is your actual income and expenses in your bankruptcy paperwork.
