About Amanda Downing

Attorney

In 2002, Amanda Downing joined The Dellutri Law Group, PA and in December 2008, she was named Partner. Amanda was born and raised in Lee County, Florida. In fact, she holds an original Florida Pioneer Descendant Certificate, which means her family settled in Florida before March 3, 1845, when Florida became a state.

We believe that you should get to know our attorneys on a more personal level to really get the full picture of who you are trusting to handle your case. Sure, academic qualifications are extremely important, but we take pride in being “open books” for those who are looking for the right attorney to handle their case. So, let us be the first to say, welcome!

Who Is Amanda When She’s Not Being an Attorney?

If you have ever had the pleasure of meeting Amanda, it is easy to detect her wistful love and loyalty for her family and friends. This comes as no surprise to those who know Amanda’s background as a sixth-generation Floridian. That’s right, Amanda’s family holds an original pioneer certificate and land records nearly a century old!

With nearly 20 years spent at The Dellutri Law Group, PA, Amanda is one of the longest members of The Dellutri Law Group, PA family. This loyalty she has shown to us is something that she also reflects with her personal injury clients and is just one of the traits that make her the amazing attorney she is.

According to Amanda, “Family is number one. No matter where you are from, we all know that feeling you get when you have that tight knit family member(s) to call upon. I love having a big, extended family here.” We definitely feel the love, and so do our clients! Read reviews here to see what clients are saying about Amanda.

What Is Amanda Passionate About?

If you have ever had the pleasure of being one of Amanda’s clients, you’ll know she doesn’t mince words and says what she means when it comes to the opposing side. She has the biggest heart and will fight tooth and nail to bring justice for her personal injury clients.

When asked what the number one thing Amanda has seen in her career that could have prevented a given accident, she will tell you, “distracted driving, hands down. Cell phones are the worst!” Amanda has spent much of her legal career fighting daily for accident victims who weren’t at fault.

“They did nothing wrong. Imagine driving down the road with your kids, completely minding your own business. You’re following the rules of the road, not using a cell phone, not allowing distractions when, suddenly, out of nowhere, comes a drunk driver, head-on, down a one-way road. It’s the absolute worst. I hate having to go to bat for those victims, because they never should have been put in that situation to begin with. It’s just completely unfair.”

That’s why when we asked Amanda who she was choosing for her Dellutri Law Group Passion Project, she chose MADD without hesitation. “They are fighting the same fight we are. These are real families [that are] hurting due to someone else’s negligence. They need our help.”

Mrs. Amanda Anne Downing, Esq.’s Resume

Amanda graduated from Cypress Lake High School in 1993 and the University of South Florida in 1997. In December, 1999, she graduated from Stetson University College of Law. While in law school, Amanda clerked for the Honorable Michael F. Andrews, Circuit Court Judge and the Honorable Elizabeth Kovacevich, Chief Judge for the Middle District of Florida. Amanda was admitted to The Florida Bar in April of 2000.

Wanting to return to her roots, Amanda began her legal career at a local Fort Myers insurance defense firm. After representing large insurance companies and corporations for two years, she realized that she opposed the daily custom of denying and undermining victim’s claims. For that reason, Amanda decided to make a promising change and pursue a career as an advocate on behalf of victims who are injured due to the negligence of others. Accordingly, Amanda joined The Dellutri Law Group, PA, where she litigates personal injury and wrongful death cases.

Amanda is licensed to practice in all state courts in Florida and the United States District Courts; Northern, Southern, and Middle Districts of Florida. She is also a member of the Florida Justice Association and Lee County Bar Association. In May 2010, Amanda completed a four-year term as a Barrister with the prestigious Calusa Inns of Court. From September 2010 to September 2013, she served on the Twentieth Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee. During these three years, she was ultimately appointed Chair of the Committee.
