It’s not every day that teens invent something that can change the world, but that’s exactly what three Gulliver Preparatory School students are trying to do. Victoria Roca, Susana Cappello, and Carolina Baigorri recently came across a scary date rape statistic - one in every five women are date raped. The girls hope to lower that number with a straw. But it’s not just any straw.

Aid Sought for Good Samaritan That Lost Legs Aiding in Car Accident

Dani Hagmann did a good deed. She stopped to help a driver that was in an accident. Hagmann was driving on I-75 early in the morning when she saw the car in front of her veer off the road. Not seeing any other cars on the road, Hagmann stopped to help the driver - a young girl that was shaking and crying.

Fort Myers Couple Killed in Tragic Crash

This past Thursday, a 22-year old man (Marvin Bryer) and his 18-year old girlfriend (Jaya Rucker) were killed when the car the male was driving flipped over the highway median and struck a tree. The pair were killed instantly and pronounced dead at the scene. The accident happened on the 6900 block of Bayshore Road.

The three major credit bureaus (Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian) have made the (somewhat monumental) decision to stop collecting and reporting on tax liens and certain types of civil judgements. What this means is that people with tax liens and various civil judgements may soon get a massive credit boost.

RadioShack Prepares to File for Bankruptcy

During the 1980s, any mall you walked into would have a RadioShack. It was the place to go to purchase electronics. I spent quite a few of my dollars and time in Radio Shack.  They always seemed to have the pieces I was looking for.  During that time, the company thrived without much competition. When big box stores like Best Buy entered the scene in the early 1990s with more products, standalone stores, and better prices, RadioShack began to suffer, but the company still managed to stay afloat, probably because of loyal customers like myself who had grown to rely on their inventory of parts.
