Florida Wrongful Death Attorneys
Your Loss Is Immense; We Want to Help
Wrongful death cases have no happy endings; we will not try to sugarcoat the tragedies our clients deal with. These cases take an emotional and financial toll on the entire family. When you hire The Dellutri Law Group, PA for your wrongful death case, we not only immediately protect your rights and counsel you through tough legal issues, but we are also right there with you—feeling the pain of your loss. It is our mission to step in and help a family in pain. We are here when there is no one to turn to.
Our Mission to Our Clients
As attorneys, we are limited in our abilities to get justice for our clients. We cannot fill Dad’s empty seat at the dinner table or Mom’s favorite chair in the family room. We will never be able to fill the void when a family loses a child. We cannot take away the pain that our clients feel or the tears they shed.
However, we can take the time to learn about their loved one. We can listen to the stories and find out more about their loss. Getting to know these family members through their family’s stories, traditions, and histories provides us with the information we need to really make a difference in our clients’ lives.
We all have families and, being in this business, you learn to savor every moment with your family and friends. A tragedy can strike at any moment, as our clients know all too well. Every moment is precious.
When you hire The Dellutri Law Group, PA, you can be sure that we will always be here when you need us most, whether that’s for legal advice or even when you just need someone to listen.
Who Can File a Wrongful Death Claim in Florida?
In Florida, as in other states, only certain people are allowed to file a wrongful death claim on behalf of their loved one. Unfortunately, although the loss of a family member or friend is no doubt a significant blow to anyone, only certain individuals are permitted to seek compensation for their losses. Additionally, only the personal representative of the loved one’s estate can actually file the claim. This person may be someone who was appointed to be the personal representative in the deceased’s will, or it may be someone appointed by the court if the person died without a will.
A wrongful death claim in Florida is filed by the personal representative on behalf of the following people:
- The deceased’s surviving spouse or children
- The deceased’s surviving parent(s) or guardian(s) (if the person who died was a minor)
- Relatives, either blood-relations or adopted siblings, who were dependent on the deceased, either partially or entirely, for “services or support”
Are you wondering if your eligible to file such a case on behalf of a loved one? Contact us today to learn more about your legal rights and options, as well as how our Florida wrongful death attorneys can help you navigate this difficult time.
